Expedia and Booking.com

Expedia and Booking.com are the two most successful online travel agencies (OTA) in the United States. If you do not currently have a contract with one or both of these providers, we highly recommend contacting them to discuss their online reservation services. Scroll down for information about these OTAs and our two-way interface options for Check-Inn.

Expedia QuickConnect® Interface

Expedia InterfaceThe Expedia QuickConnect online reservation interface enables seamless connectivity between your Check-Inn property management system and Expedia.com. Expedia QuickConnect typically includes: expedia.com, hotels.com, hotwire.com and the Expedia Affiliate Network!

Here’s how it works: When a guest books a room through Expedia, the reservation is automatically transmitted through our two-way interface to your Check-Inn hotel software. Your real-time room inventory is constantly updated to help reduce the chance of overbooking.

With the Expedia interface you control room rates and availability through the hotel software. Blackout dates and room blocking functionality allow you to have full control of your inventory. If base allocation (guaranteed rooms) are part of your Expedia contract, a report is available through the Expedia interface that will help you manage this requirement.

The Expedia QuickConnect interface requires an account directly with Expedia (Expedia accounts setup through a third party, such as a GDS provider, are not eligible for connection). Innsoft requirements include: a license for Check-Inn, the network upgrade software, an active Service Contract, and Expedia interface contract. Please contact Innsoft directly for more information. All pricing information is found on our Pricing page.

Expedia Interface

FAQ

Q: Why do I need the Expedia Interface?
A: Depending on how many reservations you receive from Expedia, you can save money by drastically reducing the amount of time it takes your employees to manually enter online reservations into Check-Inn. Also, your employees will no longer need to manually update rates and availability on the Expedia extranet. This will improve your inventory accuracy and help you sell down to the last room!

Q: How do I manage Base Allocation (guaranteed rooms)?
A: A fast, easy to read report is available through the Expedia interface for Check-Inn. It can be run by your front desk at any time so they will be aware of how many rooms are allocated to Expedia on any given day and how many rooms are still guaranteed. If you are not sure if your Expedia contract includes base allocation, please reach out to your Expedia market manager.

Q: What are the setup fees?
A: You will need a license for the Check-Inn property management system, an active Service Contract, the network upgrade software (one-time cost) and the Expedia interface annual contract. If you are unsure of your contract status with Innsoft contact us directly and we will review your account.

Q: Does Expedia charge extra for the interface to Check-Inn?
A: No, Expedia does not charge extra for the interface at this time. However, you will need an account with Expedia.

Q: Does this conflict with my GDS service or interface?
A: You can manage Expedia.com as part of your GDS service or separately from your GDS provider*.  The Expedia QuickConnect interface does not conflict with your GDS interface. You can use both to save the most time and money!*Most franchises that Innsoft, Inc. works with are allowed to manage Expedia separately from the franchise GDS provider. A few franchises, however, do not allow this. Give us a call or call your franchise representative for more information.

Q: How do I start the process?
A: If you already have an account directly with Expedia give us a call so that we can review your account status and provide you with a quote. If you do not have an active Service Contract for Check-Inn, you will need to renew it or you may need to upgrade your Check-Inn software.

Q: I do not have an Expedia account yet.  How do I sign up?
A: We highly recommend Expedia, they are a very successful OTA (online travel agency) and can help your property book more rooms! You can contact Expedia by filling out their online form.
